Teesa's Garden would like to take this opportunity to introduce our newest Natural Medicinal Recipe ...

Sweet Life!

Ingredients: Organic Gurmar , and Organic Distilled Grain Alcohol

Place 1-5 drops on your tongue before eating and curb that craving for sweets!

Natural Health RemediesGurmar

This Ayurvedic remedy is one of the most common herbs used in the treatment of both Types 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Gurmar appears to stimulate the pancreas, prompting it to produce more insulin. Gurmar acid, a constituent of the herb, acts directly on the tongue receptors (taste buds), blocking their ability to sense sweetness. This action can curb the intake of sweets that may be aggravating the condition, but occurs only when the herb is placed upon the tongue before eating- not when Gurmar   is taken in pill or capsule form.

There is also some intriguing evidence that Gurmar may actually increase the number of islets of Langerhans, the cells in the pancreas that produce insulin.

Tips and Tricks from our clients for managing diabetes and staying healthy.

"Instead of eating fruit with my meal, I snack on an apple while preparing dinner. That way I’m not tempted to nibble on unhealthful choices."

"Use a pillbox to keep track of medication. You can even remind yourself to take insulin by putting slips of paper in the compartments."

"I prick my finger on its side, as close to the nail as I can get, and use the lowest possible setting on my lancing device. It helps keep pain to a minimum."

"I love sweets, and I found that making Peach tea in Ice Cube trays is a zero calorie sorbet. I brew one peach tea bag add a pinch of Stevia and Just freeze it in an ice cube tray, then crush it and enjoy."

Peach tea and Stevia are sold by Teesa’s Garden.

Eating several food groups together can stabilize blood sugar. Eating protein (dairy or meat) along with carbohydrate (fruit, vegetables, or grains) releases glucose at a slower rate than eating carbohydrates alone.

Healing the Heart Meditation

July 1st is the last of Three eclipese in a one month period. On Long Island we feel the direct impact of the Moon. This meditation will tap into this energy. Eclipses indicate change; solar eclipses signify beginnings and usually manifest as events in the outer world. At solar eclipses we: begin something new, make promises to ourselves, commit, announce, present ourselves, show up, make plans, select events, make decisions, rise to the challenge, make an effort, change, mature, take on greater challenges, travel at a faster pace, feel restless, feel pressured by deadlines and a buildup of emotions, experience a crisis and feel excited.

Meditation is held the first Friday of each Month, but for this month of September, our mediation will be Friday, September 9th at 7:45pm at the Inner Balance Wellness Center. 640 Montauk Highway Copiague, NY 11726.

Call (631) 225-4700 for more information.
